Needs vs Wants
A need is something you must have to live safely โ like food, clothes, and shelter. A want is something nice to have but you can live without โ like a new toy or game. Before spending, always ask: "Do I need this or just want it?"
๐ก Tip: Make a list before shopping. Mark each item N (Need) or W (Want).
Why Saving Matters
Saving means keeping some money for later instead of spending it all now. When you save regularly, even small amounts grow into bigger amounts over time. Saving helps you buy bigger things you want and gives you money for emergencies.
๐ก Tip: Save at least 20% of whatever money you get. If you get โน100, save โน20!
What is Interest?
When you put money in a bank, the bank pays you extra money called interest for keeping it there. If you save โน1000 in a bank at 5% interest per year, after one year you get โน1050 โ that extra โน50 is interest! It's like money making more money while you sleep.
๐ก Tip: Ask a parent to open a kids' savings account and watch your interest grow!
Giving to Charity
Sharing some of your money with people who need it more is called charity. Even small amounts can help someone in need. Many financial experts suggest saving, spending, and giving โ it's called the 3-jar method. Giving makes you feel good and helps your community.
๐ก Tip: Set aside a small "giving jar". When it fills up, donate it together as a family!
Plan Before You Buy
Good money managers don't buy things on impulse โ they plan! Before a big purchase, wait at least 24 hours. Ask yourself: "Will I still want this tomorrow? Can I afford it? Will I regret spending this money?" Planning prevents buyer's remorse.
๐ก Tip: Use the 24-hour rule โ if you still want it tomorrow, it might be worth buying!
